Book Inspiration

The very word 'secrecy' is repugnant in a free and open society.
— John F. Kennedy

Challenging History

Convergence of Evil was inspired by the untold stories
and hidden connections surrounding the events of
9/11. Drawing from real world events, military insights,
and speculative intrigue, Mark N. Klett examines the
thin line between fact and fiction. The book reveals
how global conspiracies, advanced technologies,
and the search for higher truths have the power to
shape not just history, but humanity’s future.

Missing Person Flyers

In the days following September
11, 2001, missing person flyers
covered New York City.

Families and loved ones
desperately searched for those
unaccounted for, turning the city
into a collective space of grief,
hope, and remembrance.

Response to the Attacks

On the morning of 9/11, President
George W. Bush was informed of
the attacks while visiting an
elementary school in Florida.

This image captures the weight of
that moment as the nation faced
an unprecedented crisis.

Ground Zero

In the wake of the Twin Towers’
collapse, first responders,
volunteers, and officials worked
tirelessly at Ground Zero.

This image captures the
resilience and determination of
those who risked everything to
search for survivors and begin
the recovery process.

Americans at Pentagon

A powerful moment of resilience—
following the attack on the
Pentagon, military personnel and
first responders draped a
massive American flag over the
building.

It became a symbol of national
unity and defiance in the face of
terror.

From The Forward

I have known Mark my entire adult life. He is by nature a quiet guy, but one personality
trait shines through constantly – he is a thinker. He thinks about things in a unique way
to come up with novel solutions to complex problems. I see a lot of that trait in
Convergence of Evil, weaving together history, fiction and the unknown to make the
reader think about things they perhaps have not considered before, which makes it an
enjoyable and entertaining read. Mark’s professional life has prepared him well to
write this book, providing solid first-hand experiences on which to draw. He draws the
reader into a complicated world that no one has ever seen, but is real enough to
believe. You will enjoy this book!
-RADM Craig Quigley, U.S. Navy (Ret.), Department
of Defense Spokesperson at the Pentagon during 9/11

Enjoyed:
Convergence
of Evil

Having known Mark for many years, I know him to be an astute student of history, and
geopolitical events. He is also a strategic thinker, but with the gift to translate that
thinking into “here and now” realistic conclusions. In Convergence of Evil, he pulls
together his perceptive knowledge of events that shaped history, and the strategic
thinking that resulted, into a blend of “historical fiction” that is both thrilling and
thought provoking. It will easily challenge your view of what is real, versus what is really
possible. Given the suspected conspiracies that we read about daily, Mark weaves a
story that will leave you questioning accepted history, know and conceivable
government secrecy, and the profound conspiracy that is possible from it.
Convergence of Evil is a masterful “page turner”

Commander of Naval Forces Korea during 9/11

Convergence of Evil: A 9/11 Story

The attacks of September 11, 2001, changed the world forever. The chaos that followed
reshaped global politics, intelligence operations, and national security policies. But what if
there was more to the story… something that has remained hidden until now?

Convergence of Evil follows Paul Keogh, a former intelligence officer, and Amy Rockwell, an
NSA analyst, as they uncover a secret war waged not just between nations, but between
powerful hidden forces operating beyond comprehension.

As they chase leads from Afghanistan to D.C., from classified military installations to covert
alien encounters, they begin to realize that 9/11 was just the beginning of a larger conflict.

At the heart of it all lies a long-buried truth, one that intertwines government secrecy,
extraterrestrial influences, and an divine force known as the Trinity. As Paul and Amy unravel
the conspiracy, they face an enemy willing to stop at nothing to control the future of
humanity itself.

Drawing upon real-world events, lesser known military operations, and the creative license of
speculative fiction, Convergence of Evil is an intelligence-driven thriller that challenges the
boundaries between history, conspiracy, and what may actually be possible.

For those who have spent their lives in the shadows of intelligence and military operations,
this story may feel uncannily close to reality.

Virginia Beach Veteran Pens Thrilling Debut Novel Exploring 9/11 Conspiracies and Global Secrets

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA — Local author and Navy veteran Mark N. Klett releases his debut novel in Fall of 2025, Convergence of Evil, a thought-provoking thriller inspired by the events of 9/11 and the lingering questions they left behind.

A longtime resident of Virginia Beach and founder of Klett Consulting Group, Mark served over 20 years in the U.S. Navy before transitioning into national defense work. His first novel is not based on classified material, but it draws upon a lifetime of leadership, critical thinking, and curiosity about how history unfolds — and what may lie beneath the surface.

Set in the wake of the September 11 attacks, Convergence of Evil follows a former intelligence officer and a government analyst as they uncover a shadow war involving powerful factions, advanced technologies, and a threat that stretches far beyond Earth. The story explores themes of loyalty, secrecy, and the cost of uncovering the truth.

Though fictional, the book resonates deeply with current conversations around government transparency, national security, and global stability.

“Mark wrote this to ask the hard ‘what if’ questions,” says a member of his publishing team. “It’s imaginative, speculative fiction — and a compelling story that’s hard to put down.”

Convergence of Evil is available now in paperback, hardcover, and ebook.
